I’ve decided to try out the “this week in review post” on Fridays for awhile. I haven’t done them in a couple weeks, and there are obviously lots of great entries out there that never get discussed here. I’ve had a really busy week, going to court every day Monday through Thursday. I prefer being in court rather than being in the office, but a problem arises based on how much work piles up when you’re gone. Plus, some of that time is spent in the car (around 4 hours round trip today) so that really keeps me from getting as much done. That leads to less prep time on the cases sitting back at the office. With that in mind, we’ll lead off with a post that focuses on productivity:
3-Step Productivity System @ Zen Habits - Leo preaches the mantra in his book, The Power of Less, frequently on his blog. Work less, live more. Stress less, be happier. I think these are ideas that we should certainly keep in mind. I am horrible about this, as I always feel the need to put more on my plate. I’m never satisfied and I sometimes I don’t know how to recognize when I’ve got too much going on. Zen Habits always seems to have good tips on how to live a happier life.
The Money Illusion @ Very Evolved – Patrick at very evolved delivers some of the most consistent content of the blogs I read. The days he posts something (typically Mondays and Thursdays) tend to be well thought out, interesting posts. Uniquely, he tries to point out the role of neuroscience in our everyday lives. Here he does it again with money. Check it out.
How to find great deals on vacation and travel @ Get Rich Slowly – JD at GRS compiles a nice list of places to shop for travel deals. I usually start at Kayak.com, then go to the Southwest site (JetBlue doesn’t fly out of KC), then I usually end up at Priceline. If you use the name your own price feature over at Priceline, I’ll find you often find the best deals. The only drawback is that you have less control over when your flight leaves. But hey, beggars can’t be choosers.
Where to Get Free Stuff Online @ The Digerati Life – Who doesn’t love free stuff? There are a lot of great bargain hunting sites out there. Shopping online is essential to getting some of the best deals. Hopefully this post has something you’ll find useful.
Zecco April Fools Day @ My Money Blog – How would you feel if you woke up tomorrow and your brokerage account had 13 million dollars in it? Well, either because of a glitch in the system or a clever April Fool’s joke, some investors found that to be the case. One put in a trade for a million dollars worth of shares and it was executed! Find out what happens over at My Money Blog.
I hope you found something useful here. There’s always a lot of great information out on the blogosphere. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for reading.

Awesome link to Digerati Life – You’ve enabled me to discover a great site. Apart from the good free stuff link you provided, I found their write up of why a Netflix subscription is worth it.
Yes I am a dinosaur and have not yet done Netflix, but now I think it’s probably worth it.
Since I’m on the topic, Todd, I’d love to see an analysis of how much a cable bill vs. a Netflix subscription + iTunes/Hulu to watch TV compares.
Frugality is in order these days, and I’m analyzing my cable viewing habits and it seems that if I could buy Mythbusters (nerd? Yep!) then it would be much more economical to ditch cable and go pure Hulu + netflix + iTunes/month.
Cheers
Patrick
PS Cheers again for the linkage. Honestly, to everyone who reads this though, Todd knows his Economic theory. Neuroscience is still in it’s infancy in trying to understand why the hell we do stupid things with money.

Hi Patrick, no problem on the link. Keep up the great content.
Digerati is a great blog. I’m glad you liked it.
We use the blockbuster online system, although I think Netflix is going to have the upper hand going forward. Blockbuster is constantly changing the nature of their service. The positive thing about the blockbuster service is you can take one of the movies that was mailed to you and trade it in at the store for an in-store rental for no extra charge.
As for the Hulu et al versus cable, that’s a good idea for a post. I think I will do that, and soon. Thanks for the idea.
I’ve never seen Mythbustersm, but I’ll check it out. I’m a nerd, too.
